Unit Weekly News for 6-12 April 2026

Greetings Parents & Guardians,

We hope your family had a safe and enjoyable spring break.  The return to school marks the beginning of the final 7 week stretch toward graduation and the summer Cadet Leadership Course at The Citadel.  We will hold a registration meeting for ALL cadets (basic & cadre) on Wednesday from 1600-1700 – we will provide registration forms, cost information, and details about CLC.  Cadets need to attend 3 prep sessions each week (two conditioning/workout sessions—mornings or afternoons, and 1 30 count drill training session).  If they cannot attend, please speak with the CLC team leaders or an instructor.  Preparation is key to success at the CLC Course.

Service Academies:  Cadets interested in attending any of the US Service academies are invited to attend SC Service Academy Day on 4/18 in Columbia to meet with senate and congressional delegates for details on nomination processes plus representatives from each of the service academies to answer questions also.

The emphasis on physical conditioning and drill practice is fantastic for building both discipline and teamwork. With all the demanding physical training and the pressure of the final weeks before graduation, ensuring the cadets prioritize their recovery is just as important as the workouts themselves.
