Unit Weekly News for 9-15 Mar 2026

Greetings Parents & Guardians,

 

Congratulations!  Congratulations! We are So Very Proud of our cadets for TWO outstanding accomplishments this week!

 

HQ AFJROTC Unit Inspection:  Our Cadets knocked it out of the park and shined brightly for our annual unit inspection.  They excelled at the unit mass inspection, Drill & Color Guard demonstration teams, Unit Mission Brief, Inventories, and unit equipment/facilities/uniform management – in total our cadets earned a 98.5!  To celebrate, command staff is hosting an ice cream sundae bar in JROTC on Monday during ILT.  Thank you parents for your support with reminders, haircuts, uniforms and jewelry – It was a total team effort!

 

Also – our Teams did Fantastic at the inaugural Beaufort Strike Eagle Challenge 5-way multi-meet.  Every team placed and we won 2d place Overall!

    • Drone Slalom Course – 1st place

    • Rocketry Individual Spot Landing 1st Place – Gabriel Draper

    • Rocketry Team Spot Landing – 2d place

    • Unarmed Duet Exhibition – 1st place

    • Armed Duet Exhibition – 2d place

    • Unarmed Element Regulation – 3d place

  • Academic Team – 3d place Overall

  • Marksmanship Team – 3d place Overall

    • Top Standing Position (overall) – Miguel Stephenson

  • Raider Team – 2d place Overall

    • Litter Carry – 1st place

    • 5 Kilometer Run with Rucksack – 2d place

 

Cadet Brandon Jarvis Mixer Legacy CLC Scholarship Applications:  This scholarship honors the legacy of Cadet Jarvis-Mixer to enable at least two 1st year cadets to attend the South Carolina Cadet Leadership Course at The Citadel (1-6 June 2026).  Qualified 1st year cadets may apply by completing the form at (Cadet Brandon Jarvis-Mixer Legacy CLC Scholarship for 2026 – Fill out form) AND submit a typewritten 1 page essay explaining why they want to attend CLC and what they hope to accomplish.  The deadline for applications is Friday, 27 March 2026 at 1600hours.

This scholarship is open to current 1st year cadets who plan to return to AFJROTC next year, have at least 6 hours of community service, AFJROTC GPA of 85 or higher and an AFJROTC uniform grade average of 90 or higher.  Parents of scholarship recipients do not need to be ARHS AFJROTC Boosters.

 

CLC Cadre Scholarship Applications:  C/Col Tyler Hayes has graciously funded one scholarship for a 2d or 3d year cadet to attend CLC as a Cadre for 31 May – 6 June 2026.  Qualified 2d and 3d year cadets may apply by completing the form at ARHS CLC Cadre Scholarship for 2026 – Fill out form AND submit a typewritten 1 page essay explaining why they want to attend CLC and what they hope to accomplish.  The deadline for applications is Friday, 27 March 2026 at 1600hours.  This scholarship is open to current 2d and 3d year cadets who plan to return to AFJROTC next year, have at least 10 hours of community service, AFJROTC GPA of 90 or higher and an AFJROTC uniform grade average of 90 or higher.  Parents of scholarship recipients do not need to be ARHS AFJROTC Boosters.
